Vive la Innovation as PlaTCOM and Bpifrance Kicks Off French-Malaysian Innovation Challenge 2017

Malaysia and France team up to promote cross-border partnerships between SMEs and driving innovation

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 April 2017 – PlaTCOM Ventures and Bpifrance today launched the French-Malaysian Innovation Challenge 2017, a competition to promote and support collaborative innovative projects between Malaysian and French businesses spanning products, processes and services. The challenge requires a minimum of one French Project Lead and one Malaysian Project Lead that form a team to deliver the joint project.

The payoff will be a series of funding for the participating joint ventures as PlaTCOM Ventures has pledged funding up to 60% of the Malaysian-based cost of the overall project under the Concept-to-Commercialisation Gap Fund (CCGF) of the High Impact Programme 2 and Bpifrance is offering recoverable advances and zero-rate loans for up to 65% of the French-based cost in the overall project. The challenge is set to run from 19 April 2017 to 15 September 2017.

The challenge is organised by PlaTCOM Ventures and Bpifrance with support from Agensi Inovasi Malaysia, SME Corporation Malaysia, The French Embassy of Kuala Lumpur and Business France as co-organisers.
