Manager, Intellectual Property
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Strategize IP proposal for international clients
- Ensure Patent documents are handled and processed in a timely manner in order to comply with appropriate regulations and datelines
- Patent portfolio managements
- Assist in sourcing international associates and liaise with foreign associates
- Attend to IP enquiries
- File & archive all documents and letters to Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation
- Prepare and handle PCT applications and foreign filing
- Filing and prosecuting applications up to grant
- Reviewing specifications, search and examination reports
- Able to conduct search and assist in all patent related matters
- Issuance invoice to clients, drafting patent specifications
- Conduct FTO, prior art search & IP due diligence, conduct IP audit Exercises and IP workshops/clinics
JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years’ experience in related field
- Preferably Senior executive specialising in IPR law/patent related subject matters
- License to practice law in the Malaysian court
- Experience in preparing trademark, copyright applications, documents and letters to Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation.
- Experience in preparing memorandum of understanding, non-disclosure agreement, Deed of assignment, collaboration Agreement, outright sale agreement, Licensing Agreement, technology transfer agreement.
- Work experience involving filing and prosecuting industrial design and trademark applications up to grant in Malaysia for local and overseas client
- Experience liaising with Malaysian Intellectual Property corporation, mainly trademark office
- Able to conduct FTO, IP due diligence and trademark valuation
- Able to develop capacity building for Malaysian law and trademark domains
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Good communications skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong business writing skills
- Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise deadlines
- Resourceful and meticulous
- Mature and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and organisations
- Familiarity with the Malaysian IP Law and regulations is an asset

Senior Executive, Technology Transfer
JOB DESCRIPTION
- High Impact Programme 2 (HIP2) Project Manager
- Regular engagement with potential HIP2 applicants
- Advisory to HIP2 applicants
- Due diligence on HIP2 applicants
- Develop business case with HIP2 applicant
- Monitor progress of successful HIP2 companies and process payments requests
- Liaise with Programme Manager to provide information as required for reporting
- Consult and identify commercialisation funding opportunities for clients (academia / industry)
- Managing a portfolio of IPRs from higher Learning Institution (HLIs) and public research institutes, including advice on maintenance and strategic development of IPs for investment
- Offer Halal regulatory Consultancy services on behalf of the company
- Develop & deliver Halal related capacity building courses
- Promote technology transfer by acting as a proactive liaison between inventors and investors/companies. Facilitate interaction and value add in any gaps within the process
- Evaluate, negotiate & facilitate a variety of agreements, material transfer agreements, technology license agreements, know-how agreements,MoUs, TORs, consulting agreements and option licenses.
- Build and foster strong relationship with and between commercial organisations by identifying, establishing & maintaining company contacts for technology marketing.
- Support the company marketing initiatives and relevant media programmes, media relations and event as and when required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years experience in Technology Transfer. Successful experience of technology transfer , licensing and spin out activities would be a strong advantage. Any sales experience would also be considered
- Experience in building and managing relationships between industry and academic research. Good contacts with industry and academics are preferred
- Up-to-date with current commercialisation and technology transfer landscape (locally & internationally)
- Familiarity with the Malaysian commercialisation, other relevant key institutions and government policies on commercialisation and technology transfer is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with variety of stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Effectively working as part of a high performing team
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, Energy, Waste Management field .A postgraduate degree (Masters or PhD) In the aforementioned fields is an advantage
