Establishing Technology Transfer as a Recognised Profession in Malaysia

Under the Newton Ungku-Omar Fund, PlaTCOM Ventures, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) in collaboration with the British Council and Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) will be paving the path in Malaysia to establish technology transfer as a recognised profession. This will be executed via the world-recognised Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) designation which recognises the accomplishments, roles, skills, knowledge, and expertise of  knowledge and technology transfer professionals. RTTP is managed by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP) – a global network that sets quality standards for the profession and promotes a common core skillset. The alliance represents more than 10,000 professionals.
The national initiative will be delivered through the Newton Ungku-Omar Fund People Pillar – a professional development and engagement programme with Oxentia Ltd, Oxford’s global innovation consultancy as the delivery partner.
